Party Ideas for a Great Halloween
By Dian Thomas

People more and more are turning to party on Halloween.  Even if you do not have a party, these are some fun ideas to do with your family for Halloween.  As a young child I remember so well working with my mother to make my Halloween costume.  Take a few minutes to make this wonderful paper plate skeleton and you will have it for years to hang in you hallway for a fun decoration.

Paper Plate Skeleton

White paper plates
Paper Punch
String
Paint or marker
Black construction paper
Scissors

Cut white paper plates according to the picture.  To join the various parts of the skeleton, punch small holes at each point of contact and tie them together with string.  Draw or paint features on the face.  Accent the skeleton’s scary face by cutting out eyes, nose, and mouth.  Paste a sheet of black construction paper on the back of the plate so the paper shows through the holes.  If both sides of the skeleton will show, attach a additional paper plate to form the back of the head.  This skeleton is perfect for hanging in the windows and on doors or in hallways.

This next idea is sure to be a hit on any body Halloween party.

Floating Hands

Wash the inside of a surgical glove and fill it with water.  Tie a knot or rubber band at the top.  Freeze until solid.  Carefully cut slits down the dingers and hand with a razor blade.  Peel away the glove, being careful not to break off the fingers.  Float the hand in very cold punch or put it wherever your imagination takes it.  For an extra spooky effect, put dry ice in the punch, but be sure not to serve the dry ice.  Be sure not to allow children to play with the dry ice or touch it.

You will find fun, creative and memorable ideas that will keep you family creating new and exciting memories and adventures for the rest of the year at Dian’s website at www.DianThomas.com.  Be sure to sign up for her newsletters when you visit her site.
