Draper Mountain Point Stake

Catch the Vision" is the theme for the amazing floats in the Days of 47 parade on July 24 to celebrate the day the Mormon pioneers first came into the valley in 1847. If you are a native of Utah, you will remember the Days of 47 celebrations. If you have moved away from Utah, this special day just slips into the calendar as another day. For you I have put together a preview of what will roll down the streets in Utah today.

Stakes are assigned years ahead to do floats. The assignment are rotated though the many stakes in the Wasatch front. The creative juices in the Salt Lake Valley have been flowing for months to create these pieces of art. Hundreds and hundreds of hours and tons of materials have gone into manifesting their dreams.

Take a few minutes to enjoy these creations and celebrate the vision of the pioneers who conquered an incredible journey that we can only imagine.

Draper Mountain Point Stake: This young man was looking for his vision.


Woods Cross Stake: This old man was sharing his pioneer tales.


Salt Lake Hunter Stake: This creative float was about storing food for emergency. Pork and Beans were on their shelf.


Salt Lake Hunter Stake: Be sure to include peas and carrots in your food storage.


Murray North Stake: Be sure to have the vision of fun in your life.


Salt Lake South Cottonwood Stake: Handcarts represent the incredible journey of many pioneers.


LDS Business College: This boy is catching the vision of learning year round.


Mount Olympus Stake: The quilts that cover the float will be donated to the Humanitarian Center.


Crescent Ridge Stake: This float was made with all recycled materials.


This pioneer woman was knitting hearts together.

Sunset Ridge Stake: Theme: Catch the vision of family fun by exploring Utah.


Magna Stake: This little girl was tired before her journey in the parade started.


Balloon Creator: This man entertained the children with his ballon magic.


Everyone having fun: This little boy was thrilled to show off the magic of the Balloon artist.


Spanish Dancers from Spanish Branch

For two days on Monday and Tuesday, people were entertained in the South Town Expo Center by these many creations.
